Overview
The PE535 was Brother’s long-running entry-level embroidery-only machine. Brother’s page lists a 4 × 4 inch embroidery area, 80 built-in designs, 10 frame patterns and 9 font styles, with USB import.
Brother now lists the PE535 as discontinued. It still appears as remaining stock and on the used market, so it is still widely searched.
If you find one, check the price against the current PE545, which Brother lists with 135 designs, 10 fonts and wireless transfer. Ask about warranty status before buying used or old stock.
Lineup note: Discontinued and succeeded by the PE545, which keeps the 4 × 4 field and adds wireless transfer and more built-in designs.

The 4 × 4 in label is rounded. The real limit is 100 × 100 mm. Measure the stitched design, not the fabric or the outside of the hoop, and remember a design can sometimes fit after a 90° rotation. Use the hoop fit checker with this machine preselected.
